When the owners of this home were on a hunt for a location for their house, they were hoping to find a secure estate where they could experience the joys of living in a safe, natural environment. When they came across the dams, walkways and open natural spaces of Waterfall Estate, they knew they would call this place home.

“We love this area because it provides easy access to the school and there are a number of fishing dams in the area, which is perfect for our ardent fishermen sons,” the home owners say.

With the property occupying a corner stand, the owners wanted to build a house with presence. “We wanted a different home that would stand out, and we had a very good plan mapped out of how we wanted it to look and flow.”

The architect was briefed to draw up a very personalised home with very specific features, including the prominent towers.

“We wanted a spacious home that not only looked great, but is practical too. It needed to suit our growing needs and allow us to use all of the spaces in the house,” they explain.

This home provides the warmth and security the home owners were looking for, and every area in the house is custom-made. When it came to the decor, everything was planned in great detail, so the services of an interior decorator were not really necessary. Simple, yet elegant, was the look the owners were wanting, with nothing being too over-the-top.

In the basement of the home lies a hidden gem, in the form of an old country-style wine cellar – with decor very different from the rest of the house. “We love our wine cellar; it is a special space in the home where we can just relax. We are avid wine-lovers,” the home owner adds.

There are many elements in the home that create the impression of an old English castle, including a garden with a well. The house is a giant fortress, which makes guests feel right at home from the minute they enter the door.
