Effortless escape

According to the owner, the idea of owning an apartment on this site was set in stone once she viewed one of the show houses. She purchased the one apartment that could offer her magnificent views of northern Johannesburg.

An abundance of natural materials including various types of wood were used throughout. Light maple wood was used for the cupboards and wooden flooring complemented by cream tiles to enhance the calming ambience.

Accentuating the various pieces of furniture are the opulent suede fabrics in creams and brown as well as splashes of turquoise. The owner also wanted to create a linear effect in the apartment and this was achieved through blinds which are complemented by the striped fabric in the curtains and the lines of furniture.

The apartment is 301m², providing the owners with ample space yet at the same time offering them intimate areas as well. The impressive balcony also provides the owners with a magnificent view and is an ideal outside entertainment area. By using dark wood for the deck and burnt oranges in the artwork, the balcony emits a warm atmosphere.

The kitchen is open-plan and leads into the dining area. The owner can be occupied in the culinary area but still be a part of the conversation at the dining table. When asked about her favourite room in the home, the owner says that it is without a doubt the main bedroom with its own open-plan bathroom.

The beauty of this apartment lies not only in its visual appeal and modern rooms, but also in the fact that it is easy to maintain and provides its owners with the ultimate lock-up and go lifestyle.
