After a long day at work, there’s nothing better than relaxing at home while savouring the smells and tastes of good wines. That’s why we’ve decided to share some amazing ideas for storing wines at home. You don’t need an empty room or a big budget to implement these ideas because they are all about integrating storage into existing spaces.

Shelf it

Apart from buying a wine rack, installing shelves in your kitchen or dining room is possibly the quickest and simplest way to store wines. But this doesn’t have to be boring. Look for an empty wall and get creative with the type of shelves you install.

Build it

Transform an empty cabinet into a built-in wine rack. All you need are some beautiful “X” shelf inserts (which you can paint to match your cabinet), and with a bit of help from a handyman you will have a beautiful cabinet to store and display your precious wines in.

Stash it

Hidden spaces are also great for storing wine, especially if you have kids or want to avoid the temptation to open your vintage wines on a random day. Consider building shelves or storage under a staircase or other places where they can be stashed out of the way.

Repurpose it

Reusing and repurposing beautiful antique furniture is a great, creative way to store wines. We especially love how a blogger from Apartment Therapy transformed an old library card catalogue into a wine storage drawers.

Nooks and crannies

If you have limited space in your home, look for a narrow, open space that you can install shelves in. Even a huge bottle of wine isn’t very wide, so all you need is a few centimeters to install vertical shelving.
