Marcus Wainwright’s summer home

Written by Jess Binns

I always expect people in the fashion industry to have amazing homes. Often the worlds of fashion and interiors collide, each extracting inspiration from the other.

Shown here is the glorious summer home of Marcus Wainwright, owner of fashion label, Rag & Bone. Set in the Hamptons, this former potato barn has been lovingly converted to an exciting contemporary, open-plan home, boasting high-end finishes against natural, raw elements such as the polished concrete floor.

Having his heart set on a Vipp modular kitchen, Marcus managed to persuade the European company to break the rules this once and send their product overseas. You have to admit he was right to do so, the signature kitchen really does take centre stage here.

The bones of the original building are celebrated within, the giant restored timber trusses are boldly on show for all to enjoy. The oversized windows capture the wilderness outdoors, framing the ever-changing seasons and blurring the lines from indoor to out. The addition of an 80m2 deck, complete with pergola and pool brings this home to life in the summer months, as does an outdoor kitchen with fireplace and oven.

I adore the simplicity this home possesses, there is no fuss or frills, making for the perfect setting to filter your thoughts and really relax.

Best wishes,

Jess from Hector and Bailey
