Maurizio Pecoraro’s Milan Apartment

Written by Jess Binns

The dramatic side of me would gladly hole up in this stunning apartment, throwing lavish parties and mingling with Milan’s bold and beautiful social circles. Dark and mysterious, with designer pieces at every turn, rich woods and leathers sit boldly against the deep grey walls and polished concrete floors.

The stainless steel kitchen fades into its backdrop, softening the industrial quality, whilst the ceiling roof lights break through the moderate ceiling height to relieve any oppressive traits that comes with dark, cocoon-like spaces.

This mesmerising apartment belongs to fashion designer, Maurizio Pecoraro and was designed by Milanese studio, Dordoni Architetti. Maximising on the natural light that floods through from one side of the apartment and above, each space has been designed to make the most of these natural highlights on the various textures within. Even though the tones are dark, the theme is tinged with a whimsical air via the playful Fornasetti ceramic array, which adorns the low level shelving.

Seemingly, Pecoraro appears to have a deep appreciation for statement lighting with standing and floor lamps making appearances in almost every room. The effect as night draws in must be truly magical. This really does support my theory that late night soirée’s would go down a treat here!
