Tel Aviv penthouse apartment

Written by Jess Binns

It really is a myth these days that the scale of your home is the ultimate statement of design and luxury. This modest 160m2 penthouse duplex, situated in Tel Aviv, is a picture of space, style and beauty.

To cater for a young family, local architecture firm Toledano+Architects worked with a simple, yet effective palette, exhibiting an extraordinary level of craftsmanship and originality. Encased by a timber-clad 80m2 roof terrace, the dramatic Middle-Eastern light pours into the kitchen and lounge area, creating mesmerising shadow-play as the statement staircase balustrade comes into its own.

On the lower level, the space is split into two wings, with a communal space bringing the family together. Imagination runs wild in the kids’ rooms, where fun, yet practical solutions to encourage play and interaction have been introduced – take the dance bar, for example! In contrast, the parents are spoilt with rich walnut finishes set against raw and honed concrete and black steel elements. And the family’s impressive art collection brings the home to life.

Stylish is not a word that does this home justice; it’s the epitome of cool, defined by well-thought-through architecture and design.

Best wishes,

Jess from Hector and Bailey
