Out And About

Terrific Tau

The five-star Tau Game Lodge, situated in the beautiful Madikwe Game Reserve, is the ideal getaway for those wanting to enjoy a peaceful break and take in the amazing wildlife on offer.

Madikwe is home to the Big Five, and your experienced safari guide gets you up close and personal with both game and birdlife. With 27 major species of game in the park, you are guaranteed excellent viewing. The evening drive was a definite highlight of our stay, giving us the opportunity to view animals silhouetted against the African sunset.

With all of the chalets situated around waterholes, you can sit back with a drink and watch animals from the comfort of your deck. Enjoy a sundowner while giraffe, rhino and wildebeest pass by. When it gets too hot, cool off in your private outdoor shower and get closer to nature. All of the rooms are air conditioned and have tea and coffee-making facilities. Choose from the Standard, Luxury or Superior Room options.

At the main lodge you can relax at the pool or enjoy a leisurely drink on the upstairs deck, which boasts spectacular views. Guests gather on the deck before each game drive to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a quick snack before heading out. Guides are also on hand to answer any questions you may have and to discuss plans for the day. Staff are very helpful and attentive, and will go out of their way to make your stay a special one.

Delicious buffet-style meals are served al fresco, and each group is joined by their respective safari guides at dinner time, which makes for entertaining and stimulating conversation. There are also two bomas at the lodge where meals can be enjoyed, weather permitting.

Take some time out to unwind and be pampered in the calm sanctuary of the spa, which offers a wide range of therapies designed to replenish mind, body and soul. Guests are treated to a free Neck Hot Stone Massage when booking for three or more nights.

The lodge is ideal for conferences, and is a spectacular wedding venue that can accommodate up to 60 guests.

Rates include accommodation, three meals per day and two game drives per day.
