It’s not easy writing about fabrics. How do you describe to a reader the texture, appearance, patterns and warmth that a particular type of fabric brings without having a sample for them to feel?
This product was brought to my attention last week, and I found it so fascinating that I actually considered how I would express the innovation and fascinating uniqueness of the product without having something for readers to see and feel.
It’s called EnviroScreen 805.
This really cool product is a highly reflective, robust and transparent metallised fabric which provides both visual and thermal comfort, and are made of Trevira CS or 100% Polyester, vacuum bonded with aluminium on the reverse side.
It is woven in a screen-like construction but with a clear textile appearance, suitable for roller blinds and panel tracks. Thanks to the high reflectivity, EnviroScreen lowers heating and cooling cost sustainability. This results in a reduction of CO2 emissions and minimizes the greenhouse effect.
