In its former life, this property was plagued with outdated bathrooms and closed-off spaces, but, thanks to the vision of the new home owners and their interior designer, it is now a functional, serene family hideaway, where simplistic beauty meets spectacular views of the Zimbali coastline.

“We wanted to create a typical beach home,” explains the home owner. “It was love at first sight when we saw the views from the property, so we made sure that virtually every room in the home has a 90-degree view of the ocean.”

Calm and natural colours were used to complement the surroundings, with the watercolour effect of bright shades splashed across the white canvas of the interiors beautifully reflecting the rhythmical waves of the ocean.

The safety of the resort and the access to family activities were a big drawcard. “We also wanted the interiors to be child-friendly,” the home owner says.

With three bedrooms offering the ultimate in luxury, and ample cupboard space, the interiors are kept clean, light and simple. Despite this, there is an unmistakable attention to detail that can be seen in the choice of nightstands, small ocean-inspired accessories, artworks and scatter cushions.

“The main bedroom is definitely our favourite part of the house,” says the home owner of the room that offers a spacious seating area, a large TV and a bathroom with freestanding tub that is perfect for a refreshing soak after a long day at the beach.

“There was so much excitement and joy involved with this project – the hardest part was waiting for it to be completed so we could start enjoying it.” But, says the home owner, it was well worth the wait.
