As with most houses built in an estate, there are certain guidelines that need to be followed – as was the case with this home. However, in order to make their home unique and distinguishable from the others in the estate, these owners gave their architects a specific brief stipulating their desires for a home that reflected a seamless merge of indoor and outdoor living.
Choosing the right site to build their dream home on was no difficult task as this stand displayed an open farm feel, perfect for taking their beloved dogs for long walks.
Open-plan in design, the interior and exterior of the home display an ingenious mix of contemporary style merged with the owners’ personality, and this is evident through the furnishings. Following the underlying theme of modern architecture, the design displays form following function with visual expression of structure further enhanced by the decor in the home.
The ingenious use of glass throughout including large windows and open stack doors, combined with the spaciousness of each interior area, enhances the seamless open-plan design of the home.
The interior welcomes and reflects the exterior through the use of a neutral palette and open-plan design. Due to its design an abundance of natural light enters the home creating warm interior spaces.
The home owners hired an interior designer who, in keeping with the brief, gave these owners exactly what they were hoping for – a home that is not only reflective of their personality, tastes and desires, but one that exudes a warm yet classic ambience. What makes the interiors of this home so unique is the fact that the architecture of the home displays interesting spaces and corners, making adorning and enhancing these areas a decorator’s dream.
Designing a home that is contemporary in nature, while keeping to the guidelines set out by the estate, proved to be no difficult feat. Boasting a contemporary yet elegant style, this home is a perfect example of when hard work and great vision collide.
