The home owners wanted an open, clean space to maximise the wonderful surroundings of sea and forest.
Making best use of the sea views and elevated side of the home, sliding doors open out from all rooms on the eastern side of the home.
The initial design, style and draft was to make best use of the brilliant views. Once the shell was established and complete, the home owners brought in the expertise of interior designer Donald Harvey, from Living Image Interiors.
“My spec to him was clean modern lines, though still incorporating some special pieces from my previous home,” says the owner.
This incorporation is clearly evident in the living areas where modern and intricate details of homely accessories and artwork are scattered throughout. Contemporary leather sofas were added to the lounges, with personal touches of reframed artefacts and scatters of newer modern art create a synergy between old and new. A soft clean natural palette was used to fuse with the surroundings, whilst a splash of colour or dark wooden furniture bring a touch of life and personality to each room.
Complementing the interiors, the underfoot luxury of large glossy tiles, from Sandstone Story, adds an elegant sophistication throughout.
“My favourite space for relaxing has got to be the 92m² patio, overlooking the rimflow pool and yonder into the forest”, explains the home owner.
Filled with inviting charm, personal touches and texture, it is a real testament to elegant living in an extra-ordinary surrounding.
