In 1935 George Carwadine developed a spring for the automotive industry that could move easily in every direction and yet still remain rigid when set in position. This became the basis of the 1227 Task Lamp. Produced by acclaimed UK manufacturer, Anglepoise since 1935 the desk light has become a global design icon.
To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of this classic piece, Anglepoise introduced several new versions including the Giant. It is over three times the size of the original and moves in exactly the same way using the unique spring system. It is finished in a high gloss lacquer in any colour you can think of.
