Most would agree that having a house on a golf estate is the pinnacle of prestige, the echelon of extravagance. This home, set in the heart of a beautiful and luxurious estate in Johannesburg, proves that a trendy, modern design can fit in anywhere, but is always best where its features can be enhanced by its surroundings.

Nikki Rolfe of Nikki Rolfe Interiors was responsible for the styling, decor and design of this comfortable abode. She describes the home as “modern elegance”, one that is contemporary in design and elegant in style.

“The contemporary theme of the house is further enhanced by the clean lines and a careful layout that produced spacious and open living spaces. A stunning union of rich fabrics and varied textures render a sweeping sophistication throughout the home,” she explains. The primary contractor for the construction of this home was CIC Projects.

Working in conjunction with Mike Parsons of the Architectural Design Studio, this project is as diverse on the outside as it is on the inside. The beautiful deluxe home was treated to only the best in turnkey services, which serves to prove that the best homes come from the very best project managers.

The living areas of the home are all crisp and fresh, using soft tones for a sophisticated look and feel. Comfort meets artistic finesse, with functional home automation thrown into the mix.

This home wants for nothing. BNC Technology supplied the entertainment system, strategically positioned next to the bar area for the perfect entertaining fit. The bar area was done by Niche Kitchens in conjunction with Panda Bamboo, and comprises caramel horizontal solid bamboo boards that fit in perfectly with the Niche Kitchens high-gloss brown duco stripes.

The formal lounge and dining area is open and spacious. Wallpaper, Nikki notes, has become a significant decor trend; it produces depth and atmosphere. Designs are bold, retro, textured and nostalgic. The wallpaper that accents the fireplace forms a focal point in this space.

For the pyjama lounge, the designer took a fresh approach and furnished this space with a sleek white leather couch from Comfort Creations and added a splash of red using cushions from Mavromac.

To add to the final touches of this room, a custom-made hip hop stripe rug designed by Paco Designs adorns the floor and creates a room that exudes luxury.

Niche Kitchens was responsible for the design of this kitchen, as well as the cabinetry and bar area. The kitchen was designed using an L-shape layout for maximum productivity, and the cabinets serve as an aesthetic breath of fresh air. The Alaska caesarstone granite countertops supplied by Caesarstone give these home owners a durable and functional workspace as well.

One of the best things about this home is the sense of space, enhanced by the use of glass particularly around the staircase. KTT Worx used glass balustrading here, and also did the walk-on skylights and entrance water feature in this house, creating a breathtaking ambience for a lifestyle to aspire to.

It is important when you are designing your home to make sure you never overlook any space. To that end, the bathrooms were as well looked after as any other space in the home.

Surinno Solid Surfacing offers you the freedom to create a masterpiece in your personal style, keeping your design dreams looking perfect for years to come; and for the bathrooms, the company’s profile basins add charm and aesthetic appeal.

On Tap also supplied various bathroomware products that come together to create a bathroom suitable for pure indulgence, and Showerline ensured that a beautiful and inviting shower was enclosed in a safe, toughened glass enclosure.

The subtle blend of tones and fabrics continues through to the master bedroom and other bedrooms, and features a balanced palette of warm tones making use of cushions in dusty gold, rich brown and beige.

This happens to be the home owner’s favourite room, and it truly is a wonderful feeling when your preferred room is the one you sleep in. Of course, the entertainment area is another choice. One of the bedrooms emits modern simplicity in white, stone and grey. The crisp, white percale linen is accentuated with a plush throw and the headboard with crystals that added a touch of glamour. When the home owner commissioned the design, he knew what he wanted and had the concept in mind.
