With just two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open-plan living space which includes a kitchen, lounge and dining area, this upmarket apartment bears testimony to the fact that small spaces are not only comfortable, but can exude impressive amounts of opulence as well.
The apartment was bought off plan, which left the owner with only the interior spaces to concentrate on. Commissioning interior design specialist West Designs to work on the interiors resulted in spaces that are chic, trendy and welcoming. The main focus was on comfort and practicality, and West Designs has ensured that this home meets these expectations in a timeless yet fashionable manner.
The apartment was handed over to West Designs on a Thursday, and a week later, Mike Prinsloo, the company’s head designer, handed back a fully furnished residence to the home owner. In just seven days, Mike had the furniture manufactured, complementary curtains made and all of the walls adorned with high-quality wall coverings.
The spaciousness throughout the apartment is enhanced by the use of natural tones. The home’s colour palette of choice also lends itself to the welcoming and warm ambience that the owner desired. Subtle yet effective accent pieces were placed in various spaces in the apartment, and create visually striking focal features, such as the art piece that graces the wall in the lounge. Reminiscent of the art deco period, this piece brings a sense of timeless sophistication and beauty to this room.
All in all, this apartment perfectly suits the owner’s lifestyle. It is chic, modern, comfortable and practical – making it the ultimate place to rest, relax and unwind. As far as trendsetting goes, this home inspires creativity, and proves that opulence and luxury are not dependent on ample space.
