A home which was open-plan, allowing a blend of indoor and outdoor interaction, was top on the list of the residents requirements. The ingenious combination of an African-Asian theme makes this home truly distinct.
Each living space portrays a neutral palette of browns, with beiges adding the natural African feel throughout the home. Each subdued hue contains splashes of vibrant colour adding a lively accent piece to every room.
A double-volume vanity, a freestanding bath tub as well as a frameless dual shower, gives these residents their own space in the bathroom, while simultaneously providing an intimate enclosure. The textured appearance on the bathroom wall not only gives this interior added character but also enhances the aesthetics within.
The kitchen adds sophistication and elegance to the open-plan interior. Not only functional and practical, the design – a brilliant amalgamation of dark hues, whites tones, and stainless steel – gives this room an exquisite, sumptuous appearance.
One of the most scenic rooms within the home is the formal lounge, with surrounding fold-away stack doors that open up to the garden, courtyard and patio areas.
The residents leave us with some final words of advice: “Employ the expert services of an architect, project manager and interior designer, and pay a little extra for a reputable builder – and trust them to do a good job – you don’t need to micro-manage them.”
