At the water’s edge
By Anna-Marie Smith
The sophisticated apartment homes offer world-class views, a picturesque yacht basin where moorings inspire travel adventures, and the waterfront itself, abuzz with a zesty coastal ambience.
Bridget Lardner-Burke of Collaro Designs says she received her brief from the owners, to whom this apartment is a secondary residence, to create an interior that was unlike any other typical Collaro interior. An exquisite state of the art German-engineered Poggenpohl designer kitchen, accompanied by the finest Miele appliances, produces a unique element in this luxury apartment.
Not only does this ultra-sleek kitchen boast a number of superior-quality appliances and fittings, it is also innovative and practical, while being positioned perfectly to provide versatility in an open-plan living environment. Petite Home Décor fulfilled its brief by providing a meticulous collection of delicate and colourful soft furnishings and linen in designer fabrics.
The innovative window coverings are made of soft linen, and when open, reveal magnificent views of Table Mountain and Cape Town’s waterfront. Flitting in and out of the city for brief visits while on a business trip, or simply lingering for a relaxing holiday, this welcoming abode, with all its comforts, is not to be underestimated.
