Sanitaryware
When it comes to taps, tubs, showers, toilets and other sanitaryware products, the items currently on the market are designed to offer functionality as well as luxury. “Well-designed sanitaryware, including basins and toilets, is essential for a super-extravagant bathroom,” says Brian Mausenbaum of Linea Brigio. Freestanding baths also add grandeur, due to their size and design.

Choose top-quality products that will last a lifetime and, this way, when fashions come and go, you can easily update your bathroom with accessories without needing to replace any of the sanitaryware.”
Tiles
Choosing the right tiles will immediately boost the extravagance of a bathroom. Rukshana Vawda, who represents Maharani Tiles and Sanware, explains that bathroom tiles can be a forceful design weapon when creating a unique look. “Tiles bring a distinctive affluence to the bathroom, and the current trend leans towards bigger-sized tiles,” says Rukshana.
Offering other tile options that will guarantee a luxurious look, Frida Tugnoli of Italtile says: “Tiles that are glossy, silky or metallic, and decorated with curvaceous patterns and Swarovski crystals, are quite trendy for extravagant bathrooms.”
Lights
Lighting plays a big role when it comes to setting the mood and tone in a bathroom, and for super-extravagant appeal, industry professionals advise using distinct pieces such as chandeliers, pendants, strip lights and even downlights.
When it comes to the installation of lighting, home owners need to apply caution. “Clients should take condensation and ventilation into consideration when selecting bathroom light fittings, to prevent corrosion and maintenance on open light fittings,” advises Eduan Du Plessis of Qlite – The Lighting Specialist. Eduan suggests using products that are manufactured specifically for bathrooms in order to eliminate problems.
With so much on offer, creating a super-extravagant bathroom should not be a difficult task. However, it is important to remember that a bathroom is a place where many find solace, so when it comes to decorating, keep in mind that no matter what your style preference is, comfort should always be key.
