“We wanted to design a functional family home that made the best possible use of the surroundings,” the home owners explain.
The home is a touch of elegance in its natural surroundings. Smooth exotic lines shape this architectural masterpiece, whilst open, light and airy features create a sense of calm and tranquillity within.Bringing the much desired outdoors indoors, the house is surrounded by large patios on every level and floor-to-ceiling sliding windows and doors, making it perfect for this active family to entertain or just laze on the deck to watch the spectacular South African sunsets.
The interior space and light are carefully and powerfully utilised by meticulously chosen understated furnishings and accessories which maximise the modern feel of the home. The entire interior was chosen and placed by Suda West and Decor Unlimited interior designers, who did an incredible job creating a modern, sophisticated family home.
Keeping simplicity and functionality in mind, pulsing through the home is a chic, calm and tranquil ambience engaging a contemporary touch and feel. Light natural hues were used from the bedrooms and bathrooms right through to the upstairs public areas, thus blending the interior of the home with the outdoor bush. Contrasting with the light tones, dark wood furnishings and vibrant abstract artworks were scattered throughout to add a touch of colour and texture. “We did not want a cluttered or fussy home, but wanted a stylish family home which is great for having friends and family to stay,” add the home owners.
All three bedrooms are situated downstairs to offer easy access to the garden and pool area, whilst the open plan upstairs lounge and dining areas take full advantage of the views. Minimalism winds its way through this pristine masterpiece, making it a dual-use house as both a luxury holiday retreat.
