This classical yet modern guest house, situated in the heart of Sandton, is perfect for luxurious family holidaying.

Seldom do the words “self-catering accommodation” evoke visions of a sumptuous lifestyle as they do in reference to the Sandown Castle. This classical yet modern guest house, situated in the heart of Sandton, is perfect for luxurious family holidaying. It is only a five-minute drive from the Nelson Mandela Square, Benmore Gardens Shopping Centre and the Gautrain, which reduces the often cumbersome journey to OR Tambo International Airport to a 12-minute trip. With convenient access to all major business districts and highways, it is perfect for the travelling businessperson.

And its location is not only its strong suit. Exquisite custom-made furniture and stellar contemporary interiors are other hallmarks of this trendy leisure palace. The kitchens are particularly striking. A combination of high-gloss deep red and icy white Niemann doors with flat square handles that have bright chrome inserts give the culinary area its modern effect. Each room has underfloor heating and comes complete with world-class amenities, including flat screen TVs, DSTV, wireless internet and in-room safes.

There are three types of rooms to choose from – the twin double-suite, the executive queen-suite and the luxury king-suite – all of which are open-plan with stylishly designed en-suite bedrooms. The luxury king suite, however, with a jetted spa bath and sauna is the most sought after.

There is also a separate self-catering cottage with its own family room that can sleep up to four people. In terms of facilities on the premises, guests at the SandownCastle can expect only the best.

There is an large entertainment lounge with big-screen TV and a private gym, fully equipped with weight training area and cardiovascular machinery, for all those who like to keep fit. There is a dance studio where pilates classes are on offer, a hair salon, a 4 x 10 meter swimming pool, and kiddies pool as well as a large wooden deck with braai facilities.

For those in need of a little pampering, a beautician and Chinese massage therapist are available upon request. The added appeal of the SandownCastle is that it doubles as a residential estate, whereby guests can stay on a long-term basis at discounted rates, making it a more-than-suitable place to stay for those between houses.

And, for those that would like Sandown Castle as a permanent residence, there are units for sale as well – both furnished and unfurnished apartments are available. Whatever the reason for and length of your stay, you can rest assured that the combination of elegant design, sophisticated decor and proximity to Sandton’s shopping district, will make your visit to Sandown Castle a memorable one.
