Eclectic

Eclectic charm

By Svenja Gernoth, Photography Karl Rogers

This exquisite home was built at the end of World War I and still holds some of the distinctive features typical of that era – such as the beautiful strip flooring, bay windows and the wooden doors and frames.

The house underwent an extensive renovation in the late 90s with a view to modernising it while maintaining the basic integrity of the structure and its key features.

The interior is mostly neutral, yet perfectly accented by striking artworks and colour shocks. The decor is intended to be as practical as possible with unfussy Scandinavian-style tables, robust fabrics and comfortable couches.

This homely ambience prevails throughout. The owner clearly has a fantastic eye for even the smallest of detail.
