Fairway to heaven

Unspoiled views of Table Mountain, and a golf course for a garden, make this home luxury living at its finest. Set between two fairways on a prestigious golf estate, the surrounds of this home are uncompromised and the views uninterrupted, a match made in heaven for the small family that built it.

The owner admits that it was the views from the plot that sold him – and the fact that the golf green was on his doorstep, of course. The exterior of the home is finished in earthy colours and stone cladding that echo the natural surrounds and make the house visually unobtrusive in its environment, despite its generous size.

Inside the home, white, grey and beige decor make for a light, airy feel. This means the owners are never disconnected from the surrounding green expanse – the natural views are invited indoors to become a central feature in all of the rooms in the home. This is done expertly in the master and guest bedrooms, where large, thickly bordered windows frame vistas that work with the subtle palettes to create calm and natural spaces. The bedrooms capitalise on this theme with contrasting dark brown and white furnishings.

There is, however, playful colour among the otherwise neutral palette; a child’s bedroom is decorated with bright blue and red, with a starry pattern on the walls of the en-suite bathroom. There is more fun to be had in the owner’s favourite part of the house: the upstairs entertainment room and bar.

The views are the best from here, and you can unwind and drink in their splendour. Moving downstairs, the patio suite next to the pool is the perfect spot for relaxation. The dark furniture, wooden deck and pergola again work to bring one down to earth – the energy and feel of the home seamlessly summed up with this tranquil outdoor space.
