Family values

Despite building their new home on the principle of “utility first, aesthetics second” since breaking ground almost two years ago, the owners have found themselves living happily with both utility and aesthetics in equal measure.

“We wanted to have open areas that allow everyone to be in their own space yet still within visibility of each other,” says the owner, adding: “We love entertaining, and the mix between indoor and outdoor that our open-plan living space affords us is perfect.”

A brilliant space for entertaining though it may be, this home has a greater purpose: “We value quality time with our kids to play games, chat and just be together. We wanted cosy and comfortable living spaces on the first floor for private family time, with a large open space leading into the bedrooms, all fully fitted with dressers and en-suite bathrooms.”

The owner reveals, “This way we can create awesome memories and teach our kids the value of family. Not to sound too cheesy, but it will always be the people who make a house a home. As much as our home is well thought out and beautiful to live in, when I walk into it alone and there is no one at home, it is just a building to me.”
