Finding harmony

By Rami Moorosi, Project Consultant Sharon Richards, Photography Nic Baleta

The home is primarily characterised by the owners’ appreciation for simplicity. The location provided the first step in achieving harmony. The site was chosen because of the security that comes from living on an estate as well as the scenic views of the golf course.

There are large windows and expanses of glass that bring the spectacular outdoors indoors. This floods the interiors with natural light to create an airy feel.

The floor plan is very open with a seamless flow that is emphasised by simplistic clean lines. The very high ceilings also contribute to the feeling of openness.
The interior decor is an immaculate fusion of old and new. Painted in warm and vibrant colours, the walls provide the perfect backdrop. Having a colour consultant ensured a smooth flow of colours from outside to inside as well as having specialised painting techniques on the feature walls.

Due to the steep slant of the site, the home has a small garden. This has the advantage of being low maintenance, making it the perfect lock-up-and-go home.

In the chaotic world in which we live, it is often difficult to find balance but this home provides the owners with the ideal sanctuary. The high quality finishes, attention to detail and uncluttered nature of the decor all come together in perfect harmony.
