Located in the most private spot in an exclusive estate of only 12 other homes, the lower level position of the plot allows the splendid woody environment to become part of this family’s daily orientation.
The owners say it is a privilege to enjoy such close proximity to one of the Cape’s most treasured natural environments, the pristine Helderberg Reserve in Somerset West.
Although the low setting of the plot required the house to be built on three levels, the actual living space of the house spreads across one level only. For a family with young children, having all the living areas, both in and outdoors, on one level, is an absolute bonus.
The natural tones of the designer kitchen blend in with the living areas nearby, where the room was subtly divided through the installation of a double-sided fireplace, an essential for extra winter warmth, says the owner.
On the far side of the living area near the swimming pool and entertainment areas is the husband’s prize HomeFires braai that allows him the freedom to braai for his guests, while having the luxury of gas available to perfect any other dishes or sauces.
For indoor entertainment the owners selected a state of the art home automation system by Modern Networks, providing them the freedom to enjoy their favourite music or visuals from various convenient areas.
An exquisite collection of Mediterranean light fittings suits the relaxed mood of this house, and warms up large open spaces in an elegant, uncluttered style.
This home exudes elegance, comfort, and a lifestyle to appreciate – one that will be difficult to replicate elsewhere.
