Located north of Johannesburg in an area known for its equestrian activities, this captivating French Provencal-inspired home was created with an informal and relaxed lifestyle in mind.
The farm-like style of the structure, combined with elements of French Provencal design, blends naturally with the surrounding neighbourhood. Emphasising the farmhouse look is the use of pitched roofs with exposed wooden trusses, as well as the inclusion of verandas. Natural stone walls on the exterior add the rustic element that is characteristic of this style.
The interior decoration is a reflection of the owners’ appreciation of classical design. A neutral palette creates an inviting atmosphere, and touches of colour were carefully introduced in furniture and soft furnishings, paintings and accessories.
Although some of the furniture is new, the majority is not, but has been creatively revamped with new upholstery or repainted. Natural cement flooring accentuates the seamless flow of the interiors, and oriental rugs enhance the underfoot luxury.
Like the rest of the interiors, the en-suite bedrooms are classically inspired, with decor that emits a comfortable appeal. The impressive bathrooms have old-world charm combined with modern touches, where Victorian sanitaryware is complemented by stylish black-and-white tiles, wall coverings and striking mirrors. With a studio, six garages, a wine cellar and more, this home caters for all requirements.
