Indigi Designs is a multi-disciplinary lifestyle brand that combines South African flavour with global appeal. Founded by Natalie du Toit, the company has a comprehensive offering of interior decor products and services.
Products include fabrics, tables, chairs, ottomans, candlesticks, bowls, lamp shades, lamp bases, pendant lights, cushions, throws, runners, tablecloths, napkins, dish cloths, aprons, oven gloves, bags and a variety of other products. The range consists of locally hand printed fabrics, furniture, lighting and accessories, which encompasses a fusion between contemporary design and local craftsmanship.
You’re off to Frankfurt to in a few weeks to exhibit at Ambiente. What should the European market expect from your showcase?
A contemporary interpretation of ethnic designs that are bright, bold and fun.
What inspires your collections?
I am fascinated with indigenous cultures and artworks, so I draw a lot of inspiration from the graphic elements in ethnic design as well as shapes and details in nature. I love combining geometric patterns and bold colours with key neutrals for a balanced palette.
What are your favourite pieces in your fabric and furniture collections?
I try not to have favourites because each piece represents a development phase and is special in its own way (kind of like having kids!). The Fragment Lamp and Segment Wire Bowl really got me some good international media and are key pieces in the collection. The new pieces I’m working on are very exciting so come and check out Indigi Designs on the WCFI stand at Design Indaba!
