Architect Jaco Havenga explains that this particular site was chosen not only for its breathtaking surrounding views but also because it is situated on a quiet street on the part of the estate where no one else can build in front of the house or obstruct the view. The architectural design makes maximum use of the stand as all living rooms as well as bedrooms face north for warm and sunny interiors.
Accentuating the modern nature of the abode’s interiors is the open-plan layout with seamless flow between the different spaces. Continuing the theme is the application of significant amounts of glass and openings that flood the spaces with natural light.
Remaining true to its modern style are the finishes. These were selected not only to complement the overall look of the home but also to give it a modern yet timeless feel. A good example is seen in the use of cement and wooden floors, dark red facebrick walls as well as plastered painted walls in light sandstone colours.
The bathrooms boast fashionable stylish sanitaryware while the earthy finishes on the walls and floor finish off the look. Other elegant finishes include black aluminium framing the large windows, wooden door frames as well as the stainless steel balustrade that gracefully unites the two levels of the home.
The success of the overall appearance is that it is a true reflection of those who call this creation home.
