Dulux believes in the healing power of colour. The Let’s Colour programme is committed to make a positive difference in people’s lives globally.

The brand is working together with local communities across the globe, rolling up their sleeves to paint streets, houses, schools and squares in an effort to transform grey spaces with colourful paint.

The kindergarten facility at Dar es Salaam’s SOS Children’s Village recently received an uplifting splash of colour.

The stimulating effects of colour in the education of children have long been hailed as an effective means to improve productivity, focus and concentration. For example:

  • A calming blue is a good choice for reading areas.
  • Orange is good for stimulating creativity, this can be applied in an art or drawing room.

About the charity

The SOS Children’s Villages build families for orphaned and abandoned children. Between eight and 10 children are cared for in small “family homes” which are headed by a house mother who nurtures and cares for them.
