The owner considered numerous open plots in Europe and locally before deciding on this unique location above the Indian Ocean. Set within an eco-estate, the home is designed to incorporate the beauty of the natural surroundings. “As I live in Dubai and Europe for most of the time, it is important that the house can open up completely to invite the indoors in,” says the owner.
The home is a contemporary take on a mixture of old English and cottage. “A ‘barn conversion’ at the sea with an infusion of fynbos, uninterrupted views and an interior that speaks of our travels around the world.” He says he asked the architect to create a home that affords absolute privacy and incorporates nature while providing some respite from the wind and weather.
