One of the exhibitors who caught our eye at Design Indaba earlier this year was Mia Mélange.
The studio, owned by Mia Danieli and based in Stellenbosch, specialises in products that are inspired by nature and traditional crafting techniques.
The ceramics range features charming silkscreen drawings, such as sea creatures and organic shapes, which have been transferred on to stoneware.
The studio also makes cotton rope baskets, suitable for the table top or the floor. The designs are beautiful in their simplicity – and 100% South African.
