Architect Arthur Shaw had his hands full in designing a home which not only reflected his son’s style, but also followed the estate’s strict regulations while simultaneously holding an element of distinction and creativity.
Energy-efficient products were ingeniously incorporated into this abode, making it not only a contemporary structure but an environmentally geared home. Solar geysers were built into a separate room with its own solar pump to ensure easy and convenient access. The home owners wanted to keep the style and design of the house simplistic, practical and functional with lots of attention to detail to produce a livable home, and not a sterile show house.
The kitchen, an important room for the residents, is any chef’s dream. The home owners, boasting superb culinary skills, ensured that this particular room was well equipped for entertaining with enough fridge and freezer space (as well as a fully-stocked wine cellar in the basement). This kitchen boasts a contemporary style further accentuated by tasteful and well-chosen appliances. The dark hues of the cupboards complement the white and neutral palette of the walls and tiles.
Various touch panels throughout control security, music and lighting options. The home theatre comes complete with a distributed home solution including a projector. A great benefit of the home automation solution comes with its ability to control the lighting – the owners can select lighting themes depending on the mood.
With its visually-balanced spaces, modern architecture, and striking finishes this home provides these owners with a great place in which they can enjoy the simplicities in life in an opulent and luxurious manner.
