Now standing firm in its beautiful completed form, overlooking the ocean, the foreign owners of this home certainly have reason to be proud.
Their architect, Rossouw Theron of SRT Architects says his appointment followed from another architect’s original design, where the building of the house had only reached basement level. He says that the plans changed as the project progressed, and from originally designing a five-bedroom home it became a large, upmarket guest house, boasting many luxurious rooms featuring stunning sea views.
The relaxing outdoor ambience was created by landscape architect Riaan Maritz of the Garden Company. Riaan says the exquisite water feature that is positioned across from the library brought about the decision to install the wooden decking around the swimming pool area. To complement the choices of exterior tones and texture, Riaan introduced the beautiful Karoo rock and stainless steel. Subtle timber tones blend with the colour of the mountains in the background, and create an elegant union between the garden and the house.
From the interior design perspective, there are many cosy, yet private nooks and crannies designed for ultimate comfort, luxury and the enjoyment of the beautiful outdoor views next to a designer fireplace, or simply near an elegantly finished window space.
Although no longer in its original form as planned by the first owners, this newly designed home holds an individual identity rich in understated elegance and refinement.
