My apartment lacks storage space – do you have any tips that I can implement to compensate for this?

Tonya Lehtinen, The Spacewhisperer: The biggest unutilised space is our walls. Floor-to-ceiling shelving is a must as well as hooks to hang everything on including coats and other items that are not used.

Make sure that the furniture you buy has a dual function like a coffee table that can store magazines and games, an ottoman that can store spare linen, and bedside tables or drawers that are good for storing smaller items. Live seasonally; store camping or winter stuff in vacuum bags when not in use. You should also maximise cupboard space, even in your kitchen, with drawers. Try to ensure that all your belongings are stored neatly away, this will assist with creating more space, and throw away what you haven’t used for the past few years.
