Friends and family are very important to the owner. His home was thus built and decorated to facilitate easy entertaining. This concept is clearly seen with open-plan areas such as a kitchen that forms part of the whole living area so that the chef is never isolated from guests while entertaining.
Since the home is built on an estate, the exteriors had to follow a Tuscan theme. The owner therefore used the opportunity to break away from the mould for interior spaces. Inside, drop ceilings and bulkheads have created an ambience of elegance and high fashion while the main bedroom was designed to be an oasis of relaxation. Furniture pieces were ingeniously custom-made to make maximum use of available space. This was further enhanced by the innovative use of strong colours such as red and black and the juxtaposition of old shapes with new finishes.
Although there is no specific theme as the living areas differ from one another, functionality and comfort played an important role in the selection of everything that went into this home. The close proximity of the neighbouring houses influenced the garden landscaping. The landscape is a harmonious haven with tranquil water features that dampen outside noises while high growing trees and bamboo create privacy. Low maintainence was achieved by the exclusion of a lawn, opting instead for abundant decking, mixed with pebbles and walking blocks.
Overall, this home not only meets the requirements of a modern lifestyle, it is also testimony to the owner’s impeccable taste.
