Modern farmhouse charm

By Rami Moorosi, Project Consultant Anine Ehlers, Photography Karl Rogers

The location was chosen because of the vast spaces that provide privacy and the incredible views that offer the owners a serene setting. The home was designed to be modern and luxurious but with a charming ambience that only a farmhouse can bring.

The home was designed to be simple yet sophisticated and to entertain guests as well as to have space for family and friends to comfortably spend the night. The layout boasts a seamless flow between the kitchen, dining area, patio and the lapa outside.

Continuing the theme of the farm-style house is the kitchen. The large pantry is ideal for storage and helps to unclutter the space. Separating the formal dining room and pantry is a small opening closed off by a stained glass window – this is not only beautiful but gives the hostess access to her guests when preparing meals.

A neutral palette was specifically selected for an earthy yet timeless appeal with colour injected through the use of reds and oranges. The furnishings are a harmonious mix of old and new. Rugs adorn the tiled and wooden floors to frame different areas as well as add underfoot luxury.

Everything about this dwelling is warm and inviting and makes you want to stay a little longer – it therefore comes as no surprise when visitors say they feel like they are at boutique hotel.
