A pared-down palette maintains the balance between gracious aesthetics and comfortable living in this family home.

Having moved to this spacious property from a smaller home, the family are enjoying the sense of freedom and movement presented by their new space.

Designing the property from scratch meant that the home owners were able to select finishes that would enhance and emphasise this atmosphere. The owners wanted to create a space that their two children experienced as homey and inviting; a proper living space, rather than a beautifully designed house.

With this in mind, they selected a calming, relaxing palette. The repetition of natural elements like wood throughout the house creates cohesion and flow, while pops of colour have been introduced in key areas and the clever use of texture adds depth and warmth.
