The lush garden adorned by a huge oak tree in the front, and the wild fig and oak trees at the back, has produced an environment where children are free to roam while the family observes beautiful birds or wildlife.
This family says that being involved in the building industry has made this project painless, and together with their dedicated architectural technologist and friend, Hardie van Schalkwyk, they arrived at their ideal design. From originally not wanting a double storey home to realising that retaining the beautiful tall trees would complement the architectural design, they moved forward to a comfortable, practical and stylish Provencal theme.
Hardie says that the magnificent trees were the basis of his architectural concept for this lovely family home. He says that because it is facing a north it allows living areas to enjoy exquisite views across the tree-lined environment, letting in an abundance of light that livens up all the interior spaces. The pool and patio areas are secured on both sides providing maximum privacy.
For this family, their new abode had to reflect their personalities. This is shown in the custom-made solid mahogony dining room furniture and wrought iron balustrades designed especially for them. This personalised environment extends into the garden where the beautiful water feature lined with roses, lavender, cypress trees and evergreens creates a restful ambience, highlighted by the beautiful outdoor designer lanterns.
The flowing interior exposes a visual feast of rich earthy tones, exquisite Persian rugs and a selection of impressive chandeliers and fine art. Bedrooms and living areas reflect creative thought and careful planning.
The interior spaces of this home reflect careful decisions on how to utilise space effectively and also how to live in ultimate comfort.
