The striking view was the main reason why the residents of this home chose to build in this particular spot, situated on the fourth fairway with tranquil and idyllic scenery. One of the main challenges which they found themselves facing was to create a home which fit the criteria of the estate – a Balinese style – while still maintaining a modern home which blended in with its natural surroundings.

The architect ensured that this home became one with its natural surrounds by creating the feeling that the house was floating above the golf course on the estate, capturing the view by framing the forest, lake, golf course and sea.

The house was designed to create a sense of inside and outside living simultaneously. This was captured through the use of double-volume windows around the home combined with an open-plan design to create airy public spaces.

The interior decor is an exciting combination of Scandinavian and African style with a minimalistic approach, so as to avoid a cluttered appearance. Deciding to furnish the home themselves, the couple filled the spaces with some wonderful pieces of furniture which they had acquired after 14 years of living abroad. Not settling for compromise, they have filled their home only with furnishings which they absolutely adore.

The lounge ranks high on the list of favourite rooms in this home, and with its spectacular views, it’s not hard to see why.
