Classic, opulent, sophistication was exactly what these home owners were looking for when they embarked on designing and building their new home. Choosing to not follow any trends or styles, every element of this home, from design and construction to the finishes and decorating, was created with love and passion.
Loving the area for its quiet and dignified allure, these home owners did not think twice about purchasing this particular site on which to build their dream home. “It is very central and easily accessible as well as being close to places we like to frequent,” explains the owner.
When it comes to the interiors, the open-plan, spacious design lends itself perfectly to the traditional classic decor that the owners so love. Choosing to decorate it themselves, each piece was chosen with precision and personal taste ensuring their personalities were perfectly represented throughout.
Flowing seamlessly from one room to the next, the entire house is painted in cream and beige, forming the perfect canvas for their heavy, imposing furniture and art. “I like the classic look and antiques with chandeliers, so the whole house was decorated in that style, including bathrooms. I knew in my head exactly what I wanted and how it should look and thus all changes and designs were created accordingly,” the owner explains.
With the extensive use of heavy dark woods, stained glass, marble, wrought iron and leather, each room comes alive with a distinct feel and presence. The home has a sophisticated ambience that is perfectly suited to entertaining as well as easy, relaxed living.
By using an array of large windows finished in a stained glass design allows not only an abundance of natural light to flow into the home but adds a unique touch of old world charm to the entire house.
