What immediately appealed to the owners of this house was that the features on offer read like a check-list for paradise: a lifestyle estate focusing on quality of life and a safe family environment set within a village-green type community with plenty of walkways and parklands, restaurants and bistros, a gymnasium, various schools, healthcare facilities, lakes, equestrian trails, wetlands and exotic plant and birdlife.
Without hesitation, they approached architectural firm DZMSPACE, a firm well known for its passion and work ethic, to design their ideal home. The result is a modern masterpiece. Inside this beautifully designed home, traditional and contemporary finishes are cleverly combined to create a fresh look. While understated, the interior has touches of the glamour mixed with a truly original flavour, resulting in sophisticated style that’s tailor made for easy living.
The natural colour palette – mainly earthy hues such as creams, browns, greys and whites – ties together every room in the house, creating a unified feel while still affording each living area its own individual look.
The lounge is laid back and comfortable. Here, the modern furniture, combined with timeless fabrics in light colours, is sophisticated yet intimate. A low dividing wall adds to the intimacy, creating a border between this living space and the entrance area, which flows into the open-plan kitchen.
Crisp white cabinets, granite tops and sleek stainless steel accents translate into a modern kitchen with neat lines. The dining room echoes the elegance of the rest of the living spaces, with dark set against light to create a feast for the eyes. Here, as throughout the rest of the home, the light fitting was not only chosen to be functional, but also to be decorative, and is a focal point in itself. While the neutral palette is carried through to the bedrooms, splashes of colour are used to liven up and personalise these private spaces. Pink, blue and green, especially, are used to great effect, making each of the bedrooms come alive.
The bathrooms, too, are perfectly finished off in serene hues, ensuring that each is an oasis in itself. A dominant feature is the floor to ceiling windows throughout the home which provide the owners with unobstructed views of their breathtaking subtropical surroundings, while also letting in an abundance of natural light, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere during the day.
