Modern, peaceful and a view of the outdoors is what these home owners requested. “We wanted a contemporary-looking home, and looked through magazines and property papers to see what appealed to us,” they explain.
The architect set out to assist the owners with a design that didn’t have a particular theme, but embraced everything they envisioned. “The big sliding doors and windows give us the feel of being outdoors, which we love,” she says. The interior is still a masterpiece in the making, but the owners are leaning towards a contemporary look.
It’s furnished with old loves from their previous home, and they are in the process of adding new furnishings to compliment these pieces. “We like to choose our own decor, but do take advice when someone professional offers it to us,” she says. A firm favourite is the kitchen, with its clean lines and Caesarstone countertops. “I love my kitchen because I enjoy cooking and entertaining, and the view through the sliding doors is absolutely beautiful,” the owner states. The breakfast nook makes this room a family haven.
The location was chosen for its spectacular views and tranquil surroundings. “We love the outdoors, so this was perfect for us,” she says. “Walking into our completed home for the first time was overwhelming; I couldn’t believe it was ours. All of the hard work, running around and preparing was all worth it.”
Dealing with the design, building and decorating process, the proud owner has this advice: “Choose a home that fits in with your lifestyle and budget. You must love your home; after all, it’s where you escape to at the end of each day.”
