This picturesque family home has all of the ingredients of a dream house: a spacious living area, lavish bathrooms, a lovely open-plan kitchen and comfortable outdoor spaces.

The exterior facade is an infusion of bold natural stonework elegance, a fitting precursor to what follows inside, where the home owners have taken time and care, paying attention to detail, and carefully selecting decor and furniture that ensures each room has a personality of its own.

It’s clear they enjoy entertaining. With a fully decked-out bar in close proximity to the kitchen and lounge area, good times are sure to be had there. Separated by glass stacking doors, this area leads onto the pool deck, where there is also a portable firepit and comfortable furniture, against a beautiful clad-wall feature.

The kitchen, which is at the hub of everything, is what the owners love most about the house, particularly because of its functionality.

The interior is made up of various decor elements, lighting combinations and finishes that complement one another – as if, they were all part of a showroom ensemble.

Assorted materials in the walls and floors are accompanied by a range of plant life and soft furnishings.

From the modern crystal chandelier over the front entrance, which is offset by iron-ore balustrades and an indigenous plant, to the coordinated pendant lighting used in the kitchen, against brown laminate finishes, it is easy to see that these home owners, who decorated the home themselves, knew what they were doing.

“The interior decor was done solely by us and we are proud to have discovered that we actually have talent in this area,” they say, adding that they were absolutely bursting with pride at the completion of the project.

When questioned on what advice they had for aspiring home owners, they suggest having a reliable project manager who comes highly recommended.

In addition, they say to keep in mind that it is not always best to follow what is on trend. At the end of the day, because, you need to live in your home and so must make sure it is also functional, warm and inviting.
