Renowned French brand Roche Bobois, which celebrated its 57th birthday this year, continues its expansion, with no less than 15 new showrooms opening around the world in 2017.
Since the beginning, Roche Bobois has collaborated with well-known designers such as Hans Hopfer and Sacha Lakic. The brand also works with young design talents such as Stephen Burks and Jean Nouvel, and is known for its partnerships with fashion icons such as Missoni, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix.
Following the opening of its first showroom in South Africa, in Cape Town, in 2015, a flagship store opened in Johannesburg in August this year, responding to a demand from all over Africa.
Says Gilles Bonan, CEO of Roche Bobois Group: “Cape Town was the first step. Of course, we are very ambitious for this country; Johannesburg is a natural second step, and then we’ll look at possibly opening another two stores in South Africa in the next few years.”
The French brand is prolific, launching a new collection twice a year. The furniture pieces are manufactured exclusively in Europe, and are customisable in a variety of sizes, colours, leathers, woods and finishes.
Roche Bobois offers both modern and classic collections. Les Contemporains is a range of bold and innovative furniture that draws inspiration from the modernist classics, while Nouveaux Classiques pays homage to France’s heritage of artisan cabinetmaking, as well as neo-industrial trends. Each piece has its own personality, combining the talent, boldness and inventiveness of the designer, the know-how and passion of the craftspeople, and the client’s own style and creativity.
Roche Bobois offers its clients a personalised service. From advice in store to mood boards and 3Ds, it also has a team of designers who will come to you, to help you to bring together your ideas and to assist you in realising your project.
