Meet Phathutshedzo Nembilwi, owner of Phatudesigns
Nembilwi is the founder and creative director of Phathudesigns. The graphic designer grew up in the small town of Thohoyandou in Limpopo and studied at Tshwane University. She draws inspiration from her family, friends and many diverse South African cultures.
I became a designer at a young age. I loved drawing and sketching in my notebooks. It felt so natural and I knew it was something I would be doing for a long time. I also wanted to share my love for Africa with the world.
I am inspired by women and their daily experiences.
South African design is colourful, diverse, bright and rich in culture and history.
My message to fellow South Africans is to believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to dream big.
Future plans include collaborating and working with amazing African artists and designers.
