Save electricity with motion sensors

Legrand’s energy saving motion sensors are perfect for use in those parts of your home with little or no natural light – particularly in passage areas, like corridors, hallways, staircases and bathrooms.

These nifty devices automatically reduce the amount of time lighting is left on unnecessarily, to optimise energy savings and cut down on hefty electricity bills.

Legrand motion sensors have an automatic switch on/off facility, according to whether or not anyone is present in the installation area. Passive infrared (PIR) technology automatically detects occupancy up to 8 m, by reacting to motion.

To make sure there is optimum detection of movement, sensors must have an unhindered view of the area, with no obstacles in the devices’ detection fields. It’s also important that access points, like doors, are fully covered by the detection areas.

Installation of this system is quick and easy too. These sensors have three wires with neutral for uncomplicated indoor false ceiling mounting, for interior wall mounting and also for installation on outdoor walls and ceilings.

PIR ceiling mounted motion sensors have a recommended fixing height of 2,5 m, with a 360 degree detection range. Wall mounted motion sensors have a 140 degree detection range and outdoor wall and ceiling mounting motion sensors have a 360 degree detection range.

There is a manual adjustment facility for a light level threshold between 10 and 1 275 lux and an adjustable time delay from ten seconds to ten minutes. Maximum ratings are : 1 000 W for incandescence, 500 VA/W halogen lamps, 250 VA/W fluorescent bulbs and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL)/LED of 250 VA/W.
