Scintillating showers

By Justine Olivier

While a beautifully decorated bathroom enhances this, a shabby looking shower could drastically ruin the ambience. Frameless showers are becoming increasingly popular as are bathtub enclosures and bath screens which enable one to combine both the bath and shower if one has a small space.

“The frameless shower seems to be the flavour of the decade and the less metal involved the better,” add experts at Showerline. “The trend is now moving towards the semi-frameless look, due to its versatility and waterproofing features.” Most 21st century bathrooms do not have shower doors. Nowadays showers without doors are preferred – keeping the space within the bathroom open (most commonly referred to as a wet room).

Another trend to have hit the bathroom market is that of the outdoor shower. Anthony Mederer, managing director of Hansgrohe, says, “There are two ways to incorporate an outside shower into your property. Essentially, you want your outdoor shower to provide a feeling of total exclusion from the outside world. We usually advise clients to incorporate their bathroom into the outside shower room, allowing them to flow effortlessly into each other and still retain the same level of quality and sensual experience,” he explains.

“Another trend is to bring the outdoors in. This is possible through the use of large windows or a door that leads out into the garden. It gives you the feeling of being outdoors without actually being outdoors.” recommend professionals from On Tap.

Leaving us with some expert tips Shaun Lewis, of Shower Planet, suggest: “Keep showers as open and as large as possible, and make sure you get a good tiler, this is extremely important.”Supplied by : On TapSupplied by : On TapSupplied by : HansgroheSupplied by : HansgroheSupplied by : HansgroheSupplied by : HansgroheSupplied by : HansgroheSupplied by : HansgroheSupplied by : On Tap
