Having recently been voted “Africa’s leading apartment hotel” at the World Travel Awards Gala Dinner held in June of this year, The Regent truly lives up to its celebrated reputation.
Spanning ten storeys, this magnificent structure is home to 98 luxurious apartments and penthouses, each with breathtaking views of Sandton, the country’s fashion and business hub.
The building’s architecture was calculated in such a way that it allows an abundance of natural light to flood each room, taking full advantage of the warm northern sunlight for which South Africa is celebrated. The incorporation of expanses of glass panes further enhance the sense of space allowing guests and residents to indulge in the beautiful surrounding city views.
The Regent’s decor theme adheres to a modern yet comfortable style and the utmost attention has been paid to the smallest detail. Upon entry, one is greeted by a grandiose lobby and reception desk where comfortable chocolate brown couches are in striking contrast to white coffee tables, yet balanced by the incorporation of metallics and creams.
The various apartments and suites are accessed via private elevators which lead guests directly into their entrance lobby, while the living areas are situated on the northern facade of the building and open onto a private terrace. Large corner windows open the living spaces to the views and the gardens below.
The magnificent penthouses span three floors, with the bedroom on the ground level, the living areas on the centre level and an entertainment terrace with a splash pool on the roof. Double volume ceilings create an even greater sense of space and the balconies found on all three floors create a breathtaking integration with the outside.
Verity Maud of Verity Maud Designs created the interior of The Regent’s lavish penthouse. A fusion of black, gold, bronze and copper dominate the colour palette through its various rooms and richly textured fabrics, black glass and solid wood furniture were incorporated to create a modern and luxurious ambience. Tersia Engelbrecht, of African Goddess Creations, masterfully designed a beautiful mosaic piece for this penthouse’s balcony and used a hand-cut bronze tile and black glass to reflect its opulent interior.
The contemporary and luxurious decor style is reflected throughout the common grounds of The Regent, and incorporated within its very own bistro, Café Calce. Also situated on The Regent’s ground level is a fully-equipped exclusive gym complete with a heated swimming pool that is partially indoor and outdoor. Wellness In Motion Club and Spa provides top level fitness technologies with personal trainers on hand for assistance to ensure a complete body workout.
Located in the hub of Sandton, The Regent offers an upmarket and convenient lifestyle to permanent residents and hotel guests, with excellent facilities and amenities of the highest standard right at your fingertips.
