The option of selecting your own stand instead of an already built home, within the estate of your choice, often means that you get to choose the style of the home, while taking the regulations of the estate into consideration. For these owners their choice couldn’t have proved a better option. “We wanted a home that would fit into the unusual shape of the stand overlooking the uninterrupted views of the golf course as well as the views of the Johannesburg skyline from the opposite side,” explain the residents.

Taking this into account, there is a generous use of glass incorporated throughout the home. The design of the home also accomodates a sizeable entertainment area that allows the owners to take in the views, while enjoying a glass of wine from their very own wine cellar. Ideal for entertaining, the home boasts the contemporary wine cellar with a remarkable collection, and furniture placed ingeniously inside this area. There is also a specialised bar, a sophisticated yet comfortable in-style lounge and dining area, making the open-plan design of the public spaces an entertainer’s delight.

Choosing to decorate the home themselves, the owners combined their own personal tastes with an array of contemporary and captivating artwork throughout the home, perfectly set against the natural palette of the furnishings.

The array of white, browns, beiges and black adds a sophisticated yet modern element to the interior of the home, while playing an elegant role against the vibrant colours displayed in the soft furnishings scattered throughout the interior spaces.

The main bedroom, elegant in design, contains an open-plan bathroom, with the option of privacy by closing this room off through the use of a fold-away-glass-stack door. The bathroom is equipped with a mod-square floating bath, double-volume vanity, shower and enclosed toilet area. Spacious in design, this room makes use of the spectacular views with floor-to-ceiling windows, giving it a tranquil and relaxing ambience.

In keeping with the rest of the public spaces, the kitchen is open-plan in design – the variety of light and playful colours adds to the striking visuals of this space. Ergonomic in design, it is equipped with the latest appliances and a cleverly designed and positioned kitchen island.
