The Northgate Island shopping centre boasts an impressive 22 000m² of ultramodern steel and glass architecture.
Running next to the N1, this exclusive park offers invaluable direct access to the N1, M5 as well as Section Street, and is said to give off the feeling of “showrooms in the sky”.
The Northgate Development is set to take Cape Town to a new level with its innovative retail outlets. Beverley Forsyth, of Revelstone, agrees, saying that “Northgate is a one-stop ‘shop’ with an excellent variety of lifestyle and home styles, and plenty of parking and vigilant security”.
Nicola Phillips, of Florstore, emphasizes that it offers a huge variety of shops and products. Lauren de Freitas, of Northgate Island Centre Management, comments on the unique design of the structure. The entire mall is encased in glass. According to a spokesperson for the Bloomberg Group, this type of structure will be the first of a number of malls encased in glass and situated on highways throughout South Africa.This new type of design is magnetic to passers-by on the motorways.
