Under the Sun

The incorporation of natural elements within this home not only brings the outside in and vice versa but also creates the perfect juxtaposition of opulence and architectural ingenuity blended seamlessly with a natural essence.

Long before the foundation of their home was built the owners were captivated by the natural beauty of the surrounds and did not want their home to detract from the aesthetics of the area but rather to contribute.

Wanting to accentuate the country feeling within an urban area, the architects worked hand in hand with the residents. In doing so they took full advantage of the sun, warmth and light creating a stylish masterpiece.

The architects maximised the panoramic views ensuring that almost every window within the home overlooked the surrounding views. Making generous use of sleek vertical windows throughout the home ensured a plethora of warm sunlight. The further usage of fold-away stack doors as well as an atrium opens the whole home to a natural flow, which is further complemented by muted hues.

Feeling blessed by the outcome of their desired residence the home owners leave some words of wisdom for those building or thinking of building their own home: “Always ask the architect to draw the furniture into your house plans. Sometimes the idea you have doesn’t always go along with the furniture you already have; and always get a reputable electrician.”
